A gifted singer and lover of languages, she performs in eight and explores a diverse range of musical styles, including French chanson, jazz standards, continental jazz, cabaret, comedy, and original songs.

Fiona’s journey began in the moody glow of French cabaret evenings and the unforgettable Jazz After Dark at the Victorian Arts Centre. While she has performed in theatres, her intimate sultry style also suits cozy jazzy clubs.

No matter where or what she performs, her sultry, sophisticated style creates a unique connection with her audience, leaving every performance as memorable as it is captivating.

Fiona Thorn studied at Melbourne University, majoring in French and Linguistics, and the Sorbonne University, Paris. A lover of languages, she sings in eight.

Fiona is also a gifted writer responsible for original CDs and cabaret shows including the critically acclaimed musical All Het Up with Guy Rundle and John Thorn (nominated for 2 Green Room Awards), Million Sellers with Bob Downe (nominated for 3 Green Room awards), Max Gillies Live at the Club Republic, and Silly Season.

Fiona has performed around Australia (Sydney Opera House, The Famous Spiegeltent, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, The National Art Gallery, Memo Music Hall, The Paris Cat).

She has sung live on Good Morning Australia, the Midday Show and Denise. She has sung with the B Sharp Big Band, the Ted White Big Band and the Roger Clark Big Band. 

Earlier in her career, she was the opening act at The Night Cat and Bennett's Lane and appeared regularly at various other venues including, Bird’s Basement, The Como, The Hilton, Novotel, The Regent, The Hyatt, The Sofitel, Le Meridien, The Kitten Club and Claypots.

She is well-loved for the exotic and internationally acclaimed creation Pastel Vespa who has toured the world and has released the CDs L’Anarchie and Takin’ the Back Roads in Europe, America and Japan on the wonderfully exotic label “Siesta” from Madrid, Spain. Pastel’s unique renditions of pop classics are heard on catwalks in Japan, discos in Greece, Belgium and Germany, and on radio stations from Madrid to Oslo.
